I'll first point out that this comic is in no way designed to offend Irish people - I have known a lot of Irish people in my time and have gotten on well with all of them, but I also have a love for the comedy value of this particular Irish stereotype!
That said, say hello to my first ever attempt at a full-colour webcomic short!
I've been haunting the forums of Katie Tiedrich's Awkward Zombie site for over a year now, and I'm so inspired by her comics that I often make an edit or two of her comics to entertain myself and the other AZ members between Katie's comic updates. My edits have been becoming more and more complex so I thought I would eventually get to the point where I would actually draw a comic from scratch.
Her most recent comic 'Same Great Taste' stirred some 'original' ideas of my own and I came up with and drew this mostrosity of a comic! I've still used Katie Tiedrich's comic style and some of her comic panels for reference - but it's all drawn by my hand.
I always thought 'Samus' was a wierd name for a girl - it always made me think of the Irish name 'Shamus' - Katie's comic just triggered the idea to actually draw it. It is intended to be funny so hopefully some people will laugh at it.
I need to practice drawing facial expressions and quickly turning around fully-coloured artwork so these comics may become a regular thing for me - but I can't make any promises!
Be aware that I never intended to become a webcomic artist and I intend to continue with the 'serious' anthropomorphic artwork stuff I started with on this account - I did intend to submit some STRAY HELIX original character designs - but they've been taking longer to finish up than I initially foresaw.
Oh heavens long text much words yes!
From here on in I'll try to post stuff more often!
Do not claim this comic or the artwork contained therein as your own. Do not copy, alter or reproduce this comic or artwork.
It's great to see that you've finally decided to step out of Katie's shadow as far as mocking her comics are concerned. Now that you've drawn an entire comic page on a whim, you're a fully-licensed critic!
The detailing of the armor is superb, especially how you integrated the Irish-esque elements into Samus' design. My only suggestion is to study facial expressions and anatomy*, as you've already addressed in your original description. This only further proves how amazing that not only the Irish are, but extraterrestrial bounty-hunters.
Thanks 'Dreilex' (forgive me for not recalling your AZ alias), those tutorials are both really useful - I'll make sure to reference them when I next make a comic!

Ahaha, I go by the exact same name, except I don't post often. You may recall my Falcon Punch addition to one of Katie's recent comics. (I discovered later that you had posted something similar earlier than I.)
As far as properly browsing my gallery, I don't recommend it, as I hadn't paid much attention to that either and I prefer to be known by my more recent works. (Most of which are dedicated to projects, hence their absence.) Perhaps stop by it some time when I actually begin churning out a few comics myself!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Artists are like Snowflakes. No Two are alike.
Unless you trace. Only twats do though, not artists, so this doesn't apply to them.
Great comic. I thought it seemed a bit like a parody because the last frame.
Also, we have the exact same Tablet. Wacom Bamboo Tablet, white with blue LED.
