Description

Once I'd completely dropped the mental block that was convincing me that plant-based monsters should be green in colour I came up with this (admittedly Serperior-like) cobra/orchid - specifically a black orchid. Because plant monsters don't need to be green. At all. Write that down.

Also, yeah, I completely dropped 'Bouquetzal' and 'Meadowbra' in favour of 'Ophidorchid' - which is a mash up of 'ophidian' (a fancy name for snakes) and 'orchid'. She's specifically a 'Black Ophidorchid' - implying there are other kinds, but I don't know if there'll be other varieties... maybe?

She's a stealthy assassin-type monster so I tried to give her a very 'femme fatale' vibe. I think the black lace-like scales help with that. And yeah, there's a few design cues taken from Serperior in there (and maybe even some from Arbok's colour palette) but she's definitely her own monster - she has actual arms(!) and boobs(!) for one thing (not that boobs are really very helpful for serpentine locomotion). She probably keeps most of her assassin-type weaponry in her cleavage - the only other place she might keep stuff hidden away is up her sleeves. Also, being able to envenomate her targets with a kiss is an especially femme fatale thing for her to be able to do.

On the boobs - I've hinted at it in the annotations, but I don't think I'll necessarily go anywhere near 'snake milking' jokes in the comic - that might be a little 'too adult'. Yeeeah. I think so. I dunno. Hrrrrn. It might happen. I dunno.

Just gonna add that I did come up with the idea of a grass snake monster before Snivy came along anyway - it's in my gallery.

I never heard of snakes being milked before. But I have heard A fair bit about them being oiled.
